Health requirement
and
precautions
You do not need to be a mountaineer with rippling muscles to enjoy trekking. If you are healthy, have an adventurous spirit and are not afraid of walking, you qualify…!
It is expected all members of the group will be reasonably fit and able to walk 5 to 8 hours daily.

The main precaution that needs to be taken while trekking is not to go up too high, too fast. The body should be given plenty of time to acclimatize. Acute mountain sickness (AMS) refers to the effects of the thin air at high altitudes, which can be very dangerous and may even result in death. If you get initial symptoms like nausea, dizziness, swelling in the face and breathlessness, descend to a lower elevation immediately. This usually doesn’t happen under the elevation of 4000 meters so it’s only around the Annapurna base camp that individual should be aware of AMS.
We recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you receive confirmation. Your policy must cover overseas medical treatment and aircraft evacuation from remote areas. If you don’t want insurance, you will have to sign a discharge, as cost of evacuation in the mountain could be high.
